What Im doing for Thanksgiving this year
November 24th, 2009 by Riley1
On Thursday my dad’s side of the family is coming over to my house. We all bring over something and we plan out whose bringing what. Then we have a big dinner and if there is a game on the guys in my family watch it. The girls talk and the kids play. This weekend I have a Thanksgiving basketball tournament in Poterville. My favorite food is the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beam Castro. When I hear the word thanksgiving I think of pilgrims and Indians.

What I learned in Mr.Moore’s class in 13 weeks
November 23rd, 2009 by Riley1
What I learned in Mr.Moore’s class is how to stay safe on the computer. And you have to watch out because there are some mean people that could even kill you. I also learned how to embed link and pictures. The websites we made were glogs, weeblys, edublogs, and a wiki. We used websites like pics for learning, mel, anivista, sumo paint, animoto. My favorite thing we did in class was the blogs because we can talk to other people around the world and it was just fun making them.

Lauren Aitch MSU women’s basketball player
November 19th, 2009 by Riley1
Lauren age 22, is a basketball player for MSU. She has a nickname “Diggy” from a freshman year roommate. Her favorite place at the MSU campus is W.J. Beal Botanical Garden, where her parents were married. When she’s not in basketball she like to do art like draw. Her hometown is Lansing. She has been selected one of four captains of her team just like her dad, Matt a mens MSU basketball player in 1966-67. Every time Lauren walks in the Breslin Center she thinks of what her dad has taught her. From St. Louis, Matt Aitch helped lead MSU to a Big Ten title his senior year when he was a captain. He went on to play professional basketball before returning to Lansing, and earned his master’s degree. He briefly served as an assistant basketball coach at MSU before becoming a supervisor at Meijer’s warehouse in Delta Township. In April 2007, after sitting out her entire sophomore season with a knee injury, Lauren’s father died. Suddenly, there was a tremendous void in her life. Two weeks after her father died, she had to deal with a different kind of loss. Joanne P. McCallie, the coach who recruited her at MSU, accepted a job at Duke University. At the end of that month, Suzy Merchant was hired to replace McCallie. In her third season, she switched her number to from 5 to 45 – a tribute to her father, who wore that number at MSU.

Grads will have to be patient in job hunts
November 18th, 2009 by Riley1
But there are good jobs for grads looking for careers in fields like e-commerce, agriculture and social work. The job market for college graduates dropped 40% in the past year and hiring levels are expected to fall 2 % in 2010. It doesn’t mean you can’t get a job, a girl of age twenty was offered a job at WILS-AM after she graduates in May 2010. She’s currently an intern at the radio station.”Having that initial contact definitely helps,” she said. “The employer can see what you’re able to do, so … they’re not taking as big of a risk.” But she still hasn’t stopped on her job hunt. Never stop trying!

Uniforms
November 17th, 2009 by Riley1
If I went to a school that had to wear uniforms I’d hate it. It wluld not create a positive learning environment. Besides the uniforms are most the time ugly. I don’t like to wear skirts either. You would get bored wearing the same thing over and over.Every one is wearing the same thing I’d hate that!

Middle School Life
November 17th, 2009 by Riley1
As a middle school student you sometimes have a lot of HW which I hate especially with math. The lockers in 6th grade were short and the 7th and 8th were very skinny. But I’m glad we got new ones this year. I also am happy about the macbooks and i macs. A challenge I had was getting used to moving to 6 different classes and the lockers. But I was soon used to it.

Being an empire
November 13th, 2009 by Riley1
No one really thinks to be a empire. In fact they are treated less than human. It’s up to the pitcher to throw the ball to start but we also need the umpire to judge the game. Umpires are rarely ever written about. Bases empires same thing to the owner. How could you be an empire and get so little respect without them who is going to call the game.
